LECH.ART &
PICTURER
Johanna's love of craftsmanship has been with her since a young age. During the renovation of her parents' Gasthof Post, she discovered her enthusiasm for lovingly designed things. The tiles from the Dutch manufacturer Sytsma, which were so different and impressive thanks to their artistic motifs, were the catalyst. Listening to her pioneering spirit, she followed the path of the tiles to Heerenveen, where she learned the craft. This initial infatuation gave rise to a fascination for creating with clay, plaster, wood and stone. “Working with my hands grounds me and constantly challenges my creativity,” says Johanna, giving us an insight into her artistic soul.
As a hostess, it is extremely important to her that the vacation resorts she designs play with people's longings and devotion to beautiful things with a love of detail. Host Klaus is also a gifted sparring partner who loves to find and collect beautiful things. It is therefore not surprising that many works of art and honest craftsmanship create a very individual atmosphere in the rooms of the Lech Lodge.
The motifs chosen by the trained sculptor mainly revolve around the family and the animal world. It is therefore no coincidence that the ibex, the “King of the Alps”, has found its home in the Lech Lodge coat of arms. Certainly also because Johanna's grandfather prevented the extinction of the ibex on the Arlberg.
The hostess mainly finds time for her artistic freedom in spring and fall. Where she also forms further ideas for the future. “For me, it would be a dream to work with guests in workshops or on joint projects, for example. Countering the “digital flood” with “self-made” is a “beautiful idea” for me.
The chalets at Lech Lodge are therefore not only luxurious vacation homes, but also a place of craftsmanship.
